Wooden Floors

At Smallcost we can provide all types of Wooden Flooring, see below for more details on the breakdown of what we can offer.

Hardwood Flooring

Hardwood flooring is a choice many people make to add a sense of style of quality to their home. It is a natural and popular material, which is attractive and hardwearing. In addition, it does not harbour dust mites or other bugs that can cause allergies, which may be particularly beneficial to people with respiratory problems.

Solid Hardwood Flooring

Solid hardwood flooring is a strong and firm floor surface that will add a sense of beauty and class to a room. Because the planks contract and expand with moisture levels, this will need to be accounted for. There are over 120 items available, made from various different kinds of wood and on offer in different styles and patterns.

Engineered Wood Flooring

Engineered hardwood flooring offers an alternative to solid wood flooring and may be the best option in rooms with significant moisture variation, as it offers more flexibility to deal with expansion and contraction than solid wood. There are well over 100 products available.

Oak Hardwood Flooring

Oak is an attractive and popular wood and native to Britain. Tall, strong and impressive standing in a field, its wood is also a highly attractive and sought-after material to give any floor a grand appearance. The oak hardwood flooring range includes over 80 solid wood products and more than 70 engineered wood floors. While these are available with smooth or lacquered surfaces, some may go for the rustic look as a way of emphasising the natural grandness of the wood.

Walnut Hardwood Flooring

Walnut hardwood flooring may be an unfamiliar material to many, but although there are only 15 products, these offer some attractive and unusual items, with many of them being notable for having patterns with distinct contrasts between pale and very dark shades. The 3 strip products particularly emphasise this with alternating tones of dark and light in adjacent strips.

Beech hardwood flooring

Beech is a pale and attractive hardwood that offers a lightly-marked surface that may fit well with a room containing few extravagant colours. Planked beech hardwood flooring products can provide a gentle contrast between subtly differing shades and tones in an understated fashion that many will find attractive.

Maple Hardwood Flooring

Maple is a tree strongly associated with North America, its leaf being the centrepiece of the national flag of Canada. Maple hardwood flooring is a popular material that comes in a choice of tones varying between dark and very light. The latter is provided by the sapwood type, which can offer some particularly striking pale tones for that distinctive look.

Ash hardwood flooring

Ash hardwood flooring is a product of another tree common throughout the British Isles, which offers the twin advantages of being both durable and flexible. The material is a pale type that nonetheless is available in some distinctive patterns, with sweeping bands and other markings of slightly darker tones contrasting with lighter parts of the wood.

Cherry Hardwood Flooring

While the tree may be more commonly associated with its fruit, cherry hardwood flooring is a stylish wood that usually comes in a dark, rich, reddish brown. This opulent tone darkens over time as the wood ages. This contrasts with the youngest cherry wood, which has an orange/pink hint to it.
